Our Program
At Cherished Moments Childcare we have a structured program that emphasizes learning, creativity and fun!  We have numerous daily and weekly activities with plenty of opportunity for every child to participate and grow.  It is our passion to bring out the joy of learning in every child.

Language & Literacy

The ability for a child to express their ideas, thoughts, and feelings through speaking, writing, and reading are skills they will use for a lifetime.

Here are some of the activities we do: reading, singing, practicing words & alphabet, circle time, numbers, constant communications, and lunch time chats.

Cognitive Development

The mental process involved in gaining knowledge and comprehension which include thinking, knowing, memory,  and problem solving help a child to development their language, imagination, perception and planning ability.

Activities in this group include: puzzles, shape sorters, magnets, singing, arts & crafts, blocks, and sign language.

Social & Emotional Skills

Children thrive when they develop the ability to express their feelings and create relationships with others.  We foster and reinforce positive expressions of feelings.

Dramatic play, circle time, talk about feelings & manners, family style eating, and field trips are some of our favorite activities in this group.

Physical Development & Wellness

Building a child's fine & gross motor skills, strength, and stamina will give them the skills and knowledge to develop habits for a healthy lifestyle.

Gross and fine motor skill development include many different activities including: outdoor play, yoga, taking walks, obstacle courses, riding toys, dancing, coloring, writing, safety scissors, and blocks.

Creative Expression

We love to see the children use their imagination!  The ability  to explore the arts, movement, drama, and music help children develop their imagination and ability to play creatively.

Coloring, painting, sticker fun, playdough, dramatic play, and singing are all activities we encourage the kids to participate in every week.

Executive Function

The ability to pay attention, regulate behavior and develop perserverance are key skills for kids to learn at an early age.

Board games, sing-alongs, sorting games, follow the leader, and exploring & learning on field trips are just a few of the activities that we use to help the children develop their abilitiies in this area.

Nutrition

We want our kids to be happy, healthy, and active.  Mealtime is an opportunity to model good manners: sitting at the table with friends, and practicing 'please' and 'thank you'.  Mealtime builds confidence and creates a strong classroom community.  It takes caring families and teachers to raise healthy eaters.
